Born and Raised in Victoria, Howie grew up in the car business, watching and learning from his father whose automotive career started in the 1960s. In 1996 along with his parents and partners Bob and Lynne, Howie’s Car Corral was born. Prior to the automotive business, he spent 7 years in the Edmonton area working in the oilfields. Howie is married to Melanie and has 5 children, and just recently became a grandpa! Howie says ”I am truly lucky to have a job that I really enjoy, and people around me that share the same philosophy I do when it comes to business, treating people well and providing good customer service!”

Born in Victoria, Ron was dragged up island, kicking and screaming away from friends, up to the Qualicum Beach area when he was 9. He would spend 20 years up island fishing with his Dad, biking, riding horses with his Mom. He would trade his horse eventually for a motorbike which allowed him to explore the local lakes, rivers and woodlands. A childhood he looks back upon as the most wonderful way and place to grow up. The island’s nature is a cornerstone to Ron’s life. He is an active photographer and Scuba Diver in his off time and he is passing along his passions to his two children. Ron started in the car business in 1996 after several years of building houses and building BC Parks at the suggestion of his mother. The auto industry has been a solid path for Ron over the past 25 years. ”My time at Howie’s has been some of the best years spent so far, heading into my second decade here. Being a family run store that is hands on daily by Howie himself, makes it a nice place to come everyday." Asked for a favourite quote, Ron refers to somebody from his construction days who said ”If you haven’t got time to do it right the first time, when are you going to find time to do it again? “

Allan, raised in Windsor Ontario, has been a Victoria resident for the past 16 years. Prior to the car business, Allan worked for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp as a customer service facilitator after studying business in school. Allan has been in the automotive industry since 2007 and joined Howie’s in 2016. Allan specializes in helping clients obtain financing for their vehicle purchases. With multiple lenders to choose from, he can ensure our clients get the best rate possible regardless of credit history. Allan is married to Danielle and has two adorable daughters. Allan enjoys sports and a couple of his favourite teams are the Montreal Canadians and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Darren joined the Howie's team in early 2025. Darren grew up in the West Kootenays where he began a 25 plus year business operating retail gas stations and convenience stores under the Petro Canada banner. Darren attributes his business success to an unwavering Customer First mentality. Honesty, Integrity and Service with a Smile!  In 2002 Darren moved his family to the Island and have been proud Westshore residents since. Away from work Darren keeps busy playing guitar in a band, volunteering at the hockey rink, coaching baseball and serving on the Triangle Baseball Board for over 10 years. Darren is an advocate for expanding recreational facilities, and can often be found at the Luxton Park where he takes pride in maintaining the baseball diamond. 

Bill joined the Howie's team in the Fall of 2025. Bill's experience in auto sales dates back to 1973. You'll have a hard time finding a more experienced sales professional. When Bill isn't selling cars, he's often found on the golf course or going for walks with his 2 Boston Terriers. 

"Trevor, born and raised in Victoria, graduated with honors in 2008 and majored in biology and health sciences at college. Prior to the automotive business, he worked in building materials and various retail settings. In his spare time, he enjoys playing video games and board games; his board game collection in particular has over 100 titles and is still growing. Although he played video games more often in his youth, Trevor now prefers board games because he enjoys the social aspect of getting together with friends in-person. Trevor enjoys movies of all genres, especially action, westerns, and sci-fi, and even classic movies from the early 1900's. He also enjoys a wide taste in music, especially classic and heavy rock, country, electronic and even folk music from around the world. Trevor takes a personal approach to helping customers, listening patiently to their needs and focusing on practical solutions. He is happiest when he is learning, teaching others and problem-solving; it's the same reason he gravitates towards gaming as a hobby, and helping others whether it be at the workplace or at home. Trevor hopes to continue his education in health sciences like his mother, or pivot into a trade profession and take after his father. He visited Southeast Asia recently and would love to go back soon, especially Thailand and Singapore!"

Kevin is our head automotive technician and shop foreman. He has been working for Howie’s since the dealership relocated to Victoria back in 2000. Kevin is a born and raised Victorian and got into mechanics right out of high school. Kevin is married to Karen and has 3 children. In Kevin’s down time, he enjoys summers at the lake, and winters in Mexico. If you have vehicle problems, this is the guy who can tackle your issues. He has such extensive knowledge working on all makes and models throughout his career. Kevin is a superstar in our books and we are so happy he is ours! All of our customers agree too! Kevin says ”When you find a good thing, stick with it!”
